This is the first time I've have German food. It was absolutely amazing i am definitely going back to have the wonderful food.

Marita is Awesome, everything is made fresh to order. You need to make reservations for this place, she is the cook and can only handle so many customers at once. This is probably our favorite German restaurant since leaving Germany.

Very authentic! Marita is absolutely incredible! My girlfriend could not have picked a better more romantic place. We love it!

My self and my family love coming to eat here. The food is always amazing, hot, and just pure joy on a plate. Never had a bad meal and her husband is a gentle soul who after a few visits is just a sweetheart. My kids love to eat here and visit "grandma" who makes sure they eat all their dinner for a small piece of candy! Will be coming back again and again.

The absolute worse German restaurant in Fayetteville!! The food and decor are terrible!! Don't waste your money!!

The food is excellent. The service? Very poor. Its just Marita and her husband. Marita is very nice, and if your lucky enough to have her serve you, you'll have a great time. If her husband serves you however, you'll feel like a nuisance. I guess he doesn't like serving. No smile, no thank yous, no feedback what-so-ever. If you can deal with bad service, the food is excellent. OH, and remember you must call her ahead to make a reservation. You can't just walk in.

Brought my mom here for Mother's Day!! It was great, the owner was so nice to us!! The food was amazing and we will be back!!

Restaurant is closed for good due to death in family

Delicious food! As mentioned in the other reviews, the owners run the restaurant so it's not a place to go if you have a short lunch break. The man is reserved and this may come off as rude, but they are both very nice. The only thing that I wish was different is the calling ahead part. I understand they need to make sure they can accommodate your family, but if they would expand their location or hire staff for support they could have more business! Once we called and they didn't have seating for at least an hour or so, so we ended up going somewhere else. I don't go often, but when I do I'm not disappointed.

Before showing up here call, if you show up without calling you may be turned away. This is like eating at your grandma's house, if your grandma,was born in germany. Do not expect fancy food, but do expect a good serving of pleasantly prepared food. As in germany expect to go for bottled water. This is not a Bavarian restaurant so don't expect the flavorings to be you get at most other German restaurants.

The best German food around! Made by a real German woman! Reservations ONLY so call ahead! It's a small area with only a few tables, so plan a reservation ahead of time!

Best place to eat German food in the Fayetteville area. You have to make reservations at least a day ahead usually, because it fills up quick and she doesn't take walk-ins. It's a husband and wife that own and operate the place. He waits the tables and she does the cooking. She's German, and is probably 60-70 years old and still has her accent, so you know its good.Note: Germans have strange salads compared to salads here in the US, but they're really good.

Absolutely Wonderful!!!!!Marita and Winston have brought a piece of Germany here to Fayetteville NC! Having spent 10 years stationed Germany, it was a wonderful surprise to find a taste of Deutschland here! Everything is home made and the portions will ensure you leave full and happy. We have been back repeatedly and highly recommend you come here if you want an authentic German dinner!Make sure you call ahead and book your reservation....Marita cooks everything herself and it is Perfect!!!!!

Maritas is awesome! We are regulars here and absolutely love it. Marita is great and her husband is just misunderstood:-), but is a great person if you actually take the time to get to know him. Do not go here thinking you are going to get in and out fast. Marita prepares most everything fresh upon order. If you have ever been to Germany, you know they are all about taking their time and serving you some excellent food. Do yourself a great service and go here for the true German experience. The place is small and cozy, make sure to call before you go to see if seating is available.

My In-Laws were in town and wanted some German food. We decided to try this place. As per the website we called and got a reservation. Drove 25 minutes to get there and sat down. The lady started taking our drink order and my father in law asked for water. The lady explained that there tap water did not taste that good so they had bottled water for 50 cents. My father in law said he did not want to pay for water so he would not have any. This Lady went nuts and said "I am German Not American so I will not cook for you". I don't know why she was so offended that my father in law did not want any water but she was. So after a 25 minute drive how it was an hour later and we where still hungry. Will I ever go there again? NO. I will not recommend any one go there. Maybe next time she will beat someone with a broom for not wanting Ice or something.

We have been coming here for over 3 years. The food is the closest thing to authentic you will get in this area. Everything is made fresh and she only takes reservations . Very nice couple that owns the place. Would highly reccomend.

Great traditional German food, awesome environment

I love this place.. I don't like the reservation part,but I do understand why. This is limiting though in my end as I usually don't plan when I'm eating out. Because of this, I've only had the fortune of eating here once.

Work for assisted living place and I bring about 7-12 residents here every 3 months are so.We have a great time.Some of the residents grew up in Germany and say it is just like they used to make it.I really enjoy it because it is a not a big chain restaurant.Always enjoy the smaller places because it seems you get better food and better service!

Wonderful German Food at it finest!

My wife and I just returned from living overseas in Germany for a few years and this place is an amazing reminder of Germany. The food is fantastic, all fresh made, and just like if you ordered it at a German Gasthaus. Marita is very friendly and happy to talk to you, her husband is a little more...reserved...but once you get him talking is a wonderful person. They run the diner out of their house, which is a typical German way of doing things. The food and drink are delicious, and Marita is more than happy to go out of her way to ensure a great experience.
